Windswept faces on sunset avenue…
All I wanted was to get to you.
Screaming, heartfelt, my apologies - don’t make a difference, cause you just can’t believe.
Miles and miles keeping us apart…
Broken layers of a shattered start…
If I could rewind times we were so blind, then I’d come running back to you.
Where you are is where I wanna be.
Racing back to where my heart was free…
If I could have time to renew, then I’d come running back to you.
Pieces, shadows, faces of the doubt,
turn out all the lights without the sound
of our essence waking up the room, when I come running back to you.
Where you are is where I wanna be.
Racing back to where my heart was free…
If I could have time to renew, then I’d come running back to you.
Oh, love is where we ought to be.
Sunsets bring dawn eventually.
Give me the chance to start anew; then I’d come running back to you.
Where you are is where I wanna be.
Racing back to where my heart was free…
If I could have time to renew, then I’d come running back to you.
With the night behind you
You walk away, and I will find you
We are locked in this emotion
We will find the way home
And it’s too late
To regret the mistakes we made
Easier to walk away
And it’s too late
To remember all the words we say
Nothing will ever be the same
When the world surrounds you
You take your place with me, behind you
These are every word unspoken
This is our way home
And it’s too late
To regret the mistakes we made
Easier to walk away
When the world surrounds you
You walk away…
And it’s too late
To regret the mistakes we made
Easier to walk away
And it’s too late
[To remember] all the words we say
Nothing will ever be the same
And it’s too late
To regret the mistakes we made
Easier to walk away
You walk away…
What do I do?
What can I say?
It’s nothing new
The choice was made
But what if I lose my way?
And run right into you
Deep inside we’ll never be anything other than lonely
Tell me what does it take?
To breathe it into you
Weak inside we’ll never be anything other than lonely
One bleeding scar
Still feels how it used to feel
It’s all so wrong
No easy way to believe
What do I do?
What can I say?
It’s nothing new
The choice was made
But what if I lose my way?
And run right into you
Deep inside we’ll never be anything other than lonely
Tell me what does it take?
To breathe it into you
Weak inside we’ll never be anything other than lonely
I wanna ride
I wanna hide
What I’ve become
Now you’re no longer mine
I wanna feel
Something that’s real
Somewhere inside
But what if I lose my way?
And run right into you
Deep inside we’ll never be anything other than lonely
Tell me what does it take?
To breathe it into you,
Weak inside we’ll never be anything other than lonely
I wanna ride
I wanna hide
What I’ve become
Now you’re no longer mine
I wanna feel
Something that’s real
Somewhere insïde
Track Review
Label: Maelstrom
Physical Release Date: 24th March 2008
Tiesto dons his Allure hat once again teaming up with Julie Thompson for the superb new single “Somewhere Inside”. A standout live track from the Elements Of Life world tour, Julie has performed “Somewhere Inside” with Tiesto to over 500,000 people globally over the last 12 months so is established as a fan favourite.
Original Mix
First things first: I don’t like Tiesto. Those of you who have read my reviews in the past will know that I am always more than glad to admit to this. Luckily for him this isn’t Tiesto, this is “Allure”. Like many of you, I first heard this tune on the “In Search Of Sunrise 6″ compilation mixed by the man himself. I may not like his productions in general, but I can honestly say I love this song. Initially it seems like a rather boring and calm melodic affair, but it’s so beautiful you can’t help falling in love with it. Just the right level of synth is applied to maximise the emotion produced by Julie Thompson’s fantastic vocal. To top it all off, a guitar-like element is added which only enhances the mood. This is one of those songs that would make me close my eyes on the dancefloor and drift off into a world of my own.
Andy Duguid Remix
Andy’s got a tough job here. How do you follow up such a beautiful original mix? Add a slightly dirty electro bassline of course! The most effective elements of the original mix are combined with the new bassline to great effect, with a few piano keys added to the breakdown just to give this remix a distinctive edge. Not a bad effort, but this is one of those songs that cannot be made better.
Rating:
A return to form from Tiesto, in the most fantastic way possible. 9/10
